Artist's Statement:

"My current work is divided between self-generated fantasy of caricatures in a typical “American Setting” like a gas station or a K-Mart or ‘plein air’ paintings done in local settings like my recent paintings of Scottsville, Charlottesville or Crozet.  All paintings are done with a palette that shows heightened bright colors and has an accent on form and line with intense coloring.

The art is mostly from efforts made during the last decade and is original in its scope.   I am not a traditional painter rendering my subject matter into a recognizable canvas.  Rather, I take what is within my sight and play with it to bring it towards a new level of seeing the subject anew but keeping it within the boundaries of recognition.   This is to bring enjoyment in viewing the buildings that we see everyday in our travels in the Central Virginia area."
