Where:         Rockfish Valley Community Center, 190 Rockfish School Lane, Afton, VA 22920

From the Open Knowledge Collaborative:

Open Knowledge Collaborative (OKC)  is a non-profit organization based in Charlottesville, VA. OKC’s mission is to enhance the data collection, information management, and knowledge sharing practices of non-profit and social service agencies that provide human services in Central Virginia. We work to ensure that organizations and community advocates have the tools, methods, skills, and support necessary to collect, analyze, use and share information.

One of OKC's community-wide projects is the ReferAll Network. The ReferAll Network will be central Virginia's first comprehensive, up-to-date, shareable listing of programs and services with a built-in referral mechanism. OKC is meeting with non-profits, churches, social service departments, and community groups to discuss the project, obtain feedback, and gather support.

On Wednesday, September 19th, OKC staff will be in Nelson County to discuss the project. Any individuals or organizations that provide human services are invited. This initiative is intended to support the entire region, and as such, Nelson County's active participation is critical to its success. Your involvement will be recognized and you will have the chance to help develop and test the network before public release.
