Citizen Water Monitoring Training
A training on the Coliscan method of bacteriological monitoring will be held in Rockfish University on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 4pm. The meeting should last about two hours (or less!).
We will be discussing the current water quality of streams in the Rockfish River and Tye River watersheds, reviewing water sampling collection methods, and procedures for plating and calculating bacteria concentrations. Please bring your ideas for monitoring locations in the Rockfish and Tye watersheds and some paper/pens for notetaking (if you wish).
If you know of anyone else who is interested, please pass along this announcement and direct all inquiries to Tara Sieber, Valley Region TMDL Coordinator, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Tara.Sieber@deq.virginia.gov.
