LVNC (Literacy Volunteers of Nelson County) is producing its first Chocolate Festival to help support the work we do year-round tutoring adults who want to read, write, speak and understand English better to improve their lives.
The Chocolate Festival, a five hour [2-7PM] public event, is designed for all those who love chocolate and want to have some delicious fun. The admission fee is $5/person (age 4-adult), families of four or more get in for $20. Admission includes access to The Wells Fargo Chocolate Fountain, cupcake decorating, a puppet show, candy making area, face-painting area, a Silent Auction, craftspeople and artist booths, and music by Gene and Gayle Mills. The Festival closes with Laughter Yoga.
A truffle-making workshop by Kate Rander is part of the festival for $35 pre-paid. This 2-hour hands-on workshop is for 14 people max, and each participant will produce a box of truffles to take home along with recipes. A children’s Chocolate Chip cookie contest and a Mole competition for adults will both feature prizes and mouth-watering tasting.
